The letter (U) is a vowel.

It can make a short sound or a long sound.
When the letter (U) says its name, you hear the long sound. For example; cute.

The short sound is heard in words such as; cup, tub, and many more.

  People, animals and objects have different lengths / height . Some are short and some are long or tall . Long and tall are similar in meaning.
