Science: Parts of a plant

















Plants are living things. They grow and have different parts. The main parts of the plant include the roots, stem, leaves, flower and fruit. Other parts include the branches and seeds. 
Each part of the plant has a special function (meaning it has a special job).


Activity 1: Watch a short video on the parts of the plant.

Activity 2: 

(a) Name the parts of the plant that are usually above the ground.
(b) Name the parts of the plant that is found below the ground.


Activity 3: 

Take a short walk around your home or neighbourhood.

Do you see any plants? 

Can you name the parts of the plant that you see?

Evaluation: 

Paint a picture of a plant. Make sure to show all the parts of the plant.

(You will need your paint, paintbrush and paper)
